Amanda Isaksson
Amanda Isaksson has been teaching with GMEI since 2021. She earned her BS in Sociology from the University of Wisconsin - La Crosse in 2008. After she graduated, Amanda joined AmeriCorps which brought her down to South Carolina. After completing her service in 2010, her Montessori teaching career began when hired to be an pre-primary assistant at a Montessori school in Spartanburg, SC. After teaching there for three years she moved back to the Midwest and landed at the school where currently teaching - Woodland Montessori School in Madison, WI. Since her time at Woodland, Amanda has earned my 0 - 3 Montessori credential from Seton Montessori Institute in 2013, served on the Board of Directors as a Staff Representative, Diversity and Equity Committee, COVID-19 Task Force and led several Parent Education seminars. She is currently the Toddler 2 Co-lead teacher where she guides 10 two- and three-year-old children.
Outside of work, Amanda enjoys camping, cooking, gardening, running, celebrating holidays, and soaking up time with her children, husband and dogs.
Amanda enjoys teaching Child, Family and Community because as Montessori teachers, we don't just take children into our classroom, we take in their entire family. Under her guidance, adult learners will develop a plan to provide an inclusive classroom community for the families they work with.
